This book is a translation of one hundred and one poems selected from
poetry books of Michael Bullock, a leading West Coast Canadian surrealist poet.
The book was favorably reviewed by Piara Singh Sehrai in the Arsee, and was
prescribed by Dr. Sutinder Singh Noor in Punjabi Graduate Studies in Delhi
University. Sadhu Binning read a paper (published later in Samdarshi,
Delhi) at the opening of Ikottar Sau Kavita by Punjabi Writers Forum in
Vancouver. The
translation was supported by an International Translations grant by Canada Council.
"In
this time of post modernity, surrealism is being revisited with
the view that it doesn't have to stick to its old
limitations. Michael Bullock's poem Rose (from Ikottar
Sau Kavita) is an example." -
Dr. Vanita in Post-Modernity and Poetry
Let
us not mince words: the marvelous is
always beautiful, anything marvelous
is beautiful, in fact only the marvelous is beautiful.
